After our member, Heather Elder, suffered the loss of her uncle and a very close family friend through cancer, she approached CFDW asking the community to support her with an event to help her show her thanks to Macmillan Cancer Support. Kicking off at midday on Friday 28 June, our teams and helpers rowed in shifts for 24 hours, all while raising money for the charity.
The four teams covered a whopping 1,302,729 meters in total (The Mersea Boys: 364,977m, The Sled Dogs: 347,576m, Team Co-Ed: 305,560m, Team Tiramisu: 284,616m) and raised £3.5k.
