FITNESS CLASSES FOR CHILDREN
CrossFit Kids & Teens at Colchester Fitness Centre
CrossFit Kids is a fitness program designed to encourage children and teenagers to develop healthy habits, and adopt an active lifestyle from a young age. The Cubs, Kids, and Teens classes at CrossFit DireWolf run via different age groups:
✭ Cubs (4-6 years of age) & Kids (7-10 years of age)
The class schedule for our younger age group breaks out into sub-groups based on age and ability. That way, all attendees remain engaged in the session and are challenged by the programmed activities.
✭ PreTeens (8-11 years of age)
For Kids who show competency in CrossFit’s fundamental movements using a training bar, kettlebell, and dumbbell, this class is offered as a “bridge” between our Kids and Teens classes. Our coaches work with the class to further develop their interest in fitness beyond the games used in the Kids and Cubs sessions, readying them for the structure offered in Teens classes.
✭ Teens (11-16 years of age)
Each Kid and Teen will progress at their own pace, and development is unique to the individual. To allow for different levels of experience, confidence, and progress, the age groups in our term time schedule are fluid. If you’re unsure which will be the best fit for your Kid or Teen, contact the coaches at CFDW Kids & Teens.
Operating in a relaxed, fun environment, children will enjoy learning safe movement patterns as well as what it means to be “fit”.
