Jodie Finnigan
Jodie has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years starting out as a lifeguard at 16 and then moved into the gym and teaching a range of studio classes from 18 to the present day.
After having 2 children she decided to develop her career and completed her level 3 personal training and sports massage.
She has worked at many clubs and ran her own bootcamp for many years “I just love working with groups of people and enjoy the extra motivation you get when exercising with others, so CrossFit was a natural step for me.”
She joined Crossfit Colchester in 2014 and was hooked the moment she entered the building. “I was looking for a challenge that would help improve my upper body strength to give me a better chance of getting across the monkey bars at my next Tough Mudder race, and it was clear that CrossFit was going to do this for me” Since then Jodie has competed in many team and individual CrossFit competitions and was lucky enough to be invited to do the CrossFit Games AGOQ qualifiers for her age group just before lockdown!
In 2019 she decided to finally do her level 1 CrossFit coach course “I’ve loved every minute of helping other people fall in love with this sport. It’s such a privilege seeing members getting stronger and fitter but also, I love the community that CrossFit creates. Its like no other gym I’ve trained or worked at.”
